Mike FrommeltVisionary and Co-Founder
Mike co-founded KeyStone Search in 2002, and has over 25 years of recruiting/search industry experience. He spent six years as Vice President of a leading Twin Cities executive search firm, and prior to that was a Senior HR Generalist with a large Twin Cities based services company. Mike has conducted many senior level assignments throughout his career, but in the last handful of years, he has focused primarily on President/CEO assignments.
Mike has particular expertise in working with privately/closely held businesses as well as employee owned businesses, guiding them through key leadership transitions. Mike is a big believer in the principles described by Jim Collins in Good to Great. “The most successful organizations I’ve seen embrace getting the right people on the bus and in the right seats. They also have humble yet extremely competent leaders who understand how much they can achieve if they create a strong team and culture”, says Mike.
Mike graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a B.A. in Psychology and Business Administration. He is a frequent public speaker on the topics of CEO transition, corporate culture, talent development, business ethics, and core values. He is an active member of The Executive Group, the Midwest Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) Association, and the Center for Ethical Business Cultures at the University of St. Thomas. Mike also serves on the Board of Directors at Great River Greening and Redeemer Center for Life.
He and his wife, Brenda, live in Hopkins, Minnesota and have three young children who keep them extremely busy. When he gets free time, Mike enjoys fishing with his young boys. He says, “Fishing is a great teacher of life lessons. It shows you respect for Mother Nature giving you an appreciation of how small you really are in the world. Also it reminds me that some days will go my way, and others won’t. It keeps me centered.”
